OEM fog Light Cover Help Polo 6r

Post by welshboyo »

Hi All,

Newbie here :-)

Been tasked with fitting Fog Lights to my Son's Polo 6R - its a 2011 1.4 SE and I'm having a "moment" (shall we say) with getting the fog light covers (non OEM) to fit back on the car with any success - they keep on popping back out - I have managed fairly successfully to get the middle SEL grille (I think it is - the one with a chrome trim on it) to fit fine and that seems solid - its just these outer trims that the tabs are a little bit flimsy and are not holding in place.

The old Covers for the the old non-foglight grille seemed to be made of a much stronger/stiffer material and these new ones (which admittedly came from eBay) are obviously sub-standard and almost feel soft.

Any advice on where I can get decent OEM quality fog light covers apart from main dealer?

Cheers in Advance for your help.

I see a lot off polos with this issue. exclusively if the middle grill is been wrapped or not correctly clipped in.
I always clip the outside parts of fog light covers then the inside part ( part towards the middle grill).

the clips at top od the middle grill can bend down and not clip in correctly

If it again doesnt work you can screw a bolt from inside of the bumper so just the tip of the bolt is slighty poking thru the tab (barely touching the tab of the cover) This will make the covers stay in place, and will not fall put from road vibration etc. and you will always be able to pull them out with no issues.
