New Polo Saloon coming to UK?

Post by Nelson_Wilbury »

From Auto Express (sorry, old news for some)

"Could this four-door Polo be on the way to Britain? The saloon has been unveiled in Brazil and is the first VW to be designed, planned and built entirely at an all-new plant in the South American country.

Based on a lengthened Polo platform, the Brazilian car is offered with two engines - a 90bhp 1.6 or a 110bhp 2.0-litre unit. If it does come to Europe, a wider engine range is likely to be available. But VW hasn't confirmed any UK plans. "At the moment, the saloon is very much a South American market car and it'd need a number of changes if it came".

I actually quite like it!

It's like a little Bora! Get some 17"s on it and it will look really nice!

Sorry Josh but Bora = Boring IMHA

If VW want to design a car with a boot then why don't they? We know they can (Passat) and it looks good. But most manufacturer's (inc VW)think they can turn an attractive hatch into an attractive saloon by just grafting a larger arse on the back.

I't just doesn't work lik that.

You've got to admit it looks much better than the Polo Classic.

Man, that thing is weird.

Can't touch my old VW Derby 1.3 GLX. That was a quality car, utterly reliable for a car built in 1977.

Never quite liked the other Polo's with boots especially the Ibiza clone.

YUCK
