Polo 6C LED's retrofit

Post by Le_Combattant »

Hello guys,

Yesterday I finished my headlight retrofit from origin halogen to LED from Philips.

Here the setup:

High beam: Ultinon Pro5000 H7
Low beam: Ultinon Pro5000 H7

They work very, very well. Far away from original halogen bulb.

Plus, no error on the dasboard due to the integrated canbus into the LED, very smart move from Philips. The installation is clean: plug and play.

It's not the same with the parking light or position light (IDK if there is a difference between France AND UK/USA meaning)

But it's those one, two W5W LED:

Because they are not canbus compatible, I have an error on dashboard saying to me, "Check left and right position light". But they still work fine.

I know by performing some research that it's possible to dissable the light check wiht OBDeleven Pro.
But no specific information for the Polo, only for Golf or Polo 6R (mine is a 6C or a facelift).

Here is the final result.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

I found a setting on the obdeleven that corrects that issue when you swap to leds , i put led canbus fog lights on my polo they also act as cornering lights , i kept getting “check right fog light bulb” intermittent/low volt , but they worked fine & it confused me so i put it down to a phantom error , anyway i was flicking through the obdeleven modules & settings & came across by chance a feature that changed the setting from stock halogen lighting to leds without messing any other lightings up ie: interior lights which i swapped out also to leds , my polo is a 2016 1.8 192hp gti tsi bmt by the way.
The dash code hasnt come back since .& the main headlight bulbs which are halogen i believe , are ok still & havnt been affected by the change in the settings . So i assume any upgrades to lighting etc that brings the error codes up can be properly corrected with the obdeleven . It might even be available in the vcds ?.
