Hi everyone
I’ve got a polo 6r and I want to know what engine and external upgrades I should do.
So far I’ve changed the badges to black, tinted rear lights, added a rubber splitter, and have fitted an induction kit (which unexpectedly made my car have a nice roar to it)
Any thoughts of what else I should do.
Thanks

Okay, well not any options for that engine, many many years ago there was a slight performance increase available by replacing the camshaft(s) but that will not be available now. As always, you might find an engine tuner that could get more power out of that engine, but it would be a bespoke solution and cost more than if you traded this car in for for a newer 6C Polo 1.2TSI 110PS, and it would remain a mongrel that would be tricky to insure or pass on, so 85PS is all you will ever have.

You can do lil things like upgrade the interior lighting to leds , upgrade the alloys if you wanted to, there is a lot more you can do but it depends on how much your prepared to spend & what the benefits your going to get out of it really, if your a young fella certain mods will rinse you insurance wise , but like he said not a lot tbh
Its like i had a golf mk4 aum 1.8t 2003 some years back i was well chuffed to get it & like all new things you want to add your own touch to it lol so i did & i done lots of upgrades & it was getting expensive , i was getting it ready for a stage 2 upgrade it would have given me a decent power upgrade , alot of the upgrades is what most vdub owners were & wanted to do inside & out the motor , it was fun but i was starting to think why am i doing all this & yes i liked that i was gettin dirty n doin it mostly by myself & it was an acheivement lol i loved it but with the age of the car & mileage creeping up abit high & newer vw’s & new shapes coming out + newer tech/specs colours etc i decided that ill get a new VW new fresh mileage no one else apart from manufacturer driven it & a reasonable hpower which i could eventually start upgrading , ive started doing a few bits to it now but it will probly get a bit costly so upgrading this car is on hold for a while now , i love my car but i spect ill end up moving on to a new VW eventually lol

Re: 6r potential upgrades
If you want performance, and that is N/A engine id go for lightness, good tires, suspension.

Cheers everyone I’ll check some of these out and possibly give them a go!
