Creaking sound when moving off.

Post by Bobupndown »

Son's 1.2 TSi has started to make a creaking sound from the front as you pull away from a stop in 1st gear. To me it sounds like a suspension bush or engine mount. Pretty sure it's not clutch related. Can't replicate the noise under any other driving condition or gear. Is this a common issue or one that owners have come across on here before? Thanks.

It could be suspension bushes, lower link/track control mounting bushes, or gearbox mountings, all you can is to try doing something that replicates that noise, like rocking the engine fore/aft and rocking the car in gear fore/aft.

Yes I expect this will be the case. Just thought I'd ask in the event it was a common issue and someone could say its probably the 'xyz' bush or whatever. Will have a poke about underneath it when I get a chance.

Suggest using Silicone Lubrication Spray to isolate/identify/ lubricate squeaky bushes.

Hope this helps.
