You know when you think he cant do anything more to his car, he still manages to do/change something.
It's crazy to think about how much time/effort/money this project has cost you.
Bravo sir.

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
Hi Iichel,
Your thread is a source of great knowledge for me similar to Ciclo's and Patil's threads. I have spent numerous hours during the past few weeks going through the threads on the forum and that finally ended up with me taking a plunge and getting myself Polo 1.0 TSI Highline. I should be getting my hands on it in a few days hopefully. All thanks to you'll
While going through your thread I stumbled upon a discussion on Active Information Display. And accidentally this was something I had been researching for some time now.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004176201097.html
I know that Golf 6 is based on PQ35 platform. But thought of diving a little bit deeper and checking the Instrument cluster connector for both Golf 6 and Polo 6R.
https://imgur.com/a/BtW4n1S
Upon comparing the connector, both seem to be sharing the same 32-pin connector. So went to check the pin diagram for Golf 6 and Polo 6R. Below is what I found.
https://imgur.com/a/Q2Da4FM
There seem to be a lot of pins common between both of them also there are a few pins in 6R which aren't in use or left blank in Golf MK6. Also, can there be a difference in the CAN frames being passed around the network in PQ25 and PQ35 ? I don't have enough knowledge to come to a conclusion on the pin diagram and cross-compatibility of the IC board so I would like to request your help to decode it further so we all can have an Active Information Display in our 6Rs.
Eventually, we would need to adapt the plastic pieces of the AID; Front Frame, IC board housing and the back cover of the IC as per 6R's cluster size and its circuit board, but I think It can be 3D printed locally here for all if the seller doesn't agree to do it for us.
Sorry to butt-in and thanks for taking the time to read.
Regards,
Sanket

Some guys in China seem to have come up with an Active information display (Audi'ish style) for Golf 6.

There is a link in the first post to the 5NA wireless charger wiring scheme. I did not need to do any coding.

Some work in progress....
Seats are in!
Changes since last autoscan:
- 14 DCC module is in, but yet to be connected properly
- 36 memory seat is in and fully operational
To do:
- Check GND connection on the airbag deactivation switch
- Connect rear left speed sensor (it's unplugged), fixes a lot of errors
- Change alarm horn (battery dead)
- Install Porsche brakes front and rear
- Install DQ250 DSG6 gearbox
- Install CFGB 2.0 TDI engine
- Complete DCC install and fix DTC 00149 --> https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/4011/
- Code 14 DCC module to 000180 --> https://vagcode.info/components/c0108b6 ... 942b9.html
- Code 55 AFS module for sensors via CAN and not via its own sensor, i.e. 0FC2020001000000 --> https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/22384/
---
- Change rear left door lock (it's broken)
- Update BCM to 090E (no reason)
- Update BCM EEPROM to fix HBA problems --> https://imgur.com/a/4GXI6dK
- Change DM startup screen --> adaptation channel Startup_screen_sticker_HMI to 00 02

Sounds good.
Even I was wondering what became of your DCC project on the 6R.
Congratulations on those seats with memory.

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
I was under impression it is not compatible. Somewhere it mentions with Stage 4 tune it can work with 750Nm https://tvsengineering.com/en/dsg-gearb ... theContentInstall DQ250 DSG6 gearbox
Really impressed (again) to list of modules installed.

Whats your goal with cfgb? 300 hp?
@ag69 its a popular transmission swap in many cars. Doesnt need a lot of to get it working. Many guys use them on brutal 1.8t swaps, evos, etc. you name it someone has done it.

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
No I'm not particularly interested in 300hp in a FWD car. I'm running about 200 now and that's more than enough.
The DQ250 is a popular upgrade from the DQ200 gearbox (DSG7 dry clutch) because it can handle much more power. To be more precise, torque.
A gearbox does not care about power output that much anyway, since power is only a product of the vector torque and angular velocity (rpm).
Torque is static and it's the cross product of force and a distance to the fulcrum.
Torque is what unwillingly slips your clutch, stresses your bearings and breaks gearboxes..
Now a diesel engine is much more reliable on torque due its nature of high compression and slow combustion speeds.
Especially a turbocharged diesel engine can typically reach about 1.5-2x the torque of a similar sized petrol engine, even though these differences become smaller with turbocharged petrol engines.
My planned setup will be about 500nm and 220-240hp and that's too much for the DQ200 gearbox.
Currently the setup with 1.6 TDI engine and DQ200 is about 420nm and 200hp and the gearbox is already suffering badly.

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
why not larger injectors ( why again engine swap for 240 hp) + hybrid ?
Honesty i was hoping ur goal was around 300 hp, to trash those 1.9 jtd forged engine cars ( AR 147)
check out don-octane.de

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
Because I think I don't need 300+ bhp in a Polo, and with bigger injectors and a bigger turbocharger driveability does not really improve due to i.e. turbo lag.
You could argue that the DSG gearbox will always take care of smooth power delivery but I really don't think I'll notice the differences between a nice smooth 240hp setup and a race oriented 300hp setup.
Remember, this car is supposed to be a daily driven, comfortable car. Not a dragracer. It's only FWD!

I agree, but I think when you get a lick of the extra power after some time you will want more.

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
Yes of course it's always nice to have more power, but with these engines you need to have a lot of boost to reach high power, without smoke.
This has two disadvantages, first you need to remove the DPF which I don't really want to do because of emission regulations.
Secondly to get a lot of boost, you must put on a different turbocharger, either off the shelf or hybridized. And this really pushes the torque band higher up the rev range. Some setups only start pulling at around 3500 rpm (in a TDI, yes ), so you have a 2.0 SDI from 0 to 3000 rpm and a rocketship from 4000 upwards.
Were i now already have peak torque from 2750 rpm and peak power is not much higher.... that's a great driving car.
So there is no way to go back to a smooth power delivery with just multi-mapping on your ECU, there is always the characteristics of the turbocharger.

Re: iichels Polo 6R 1.6TDI DSG --> OEM++ R-Line conversion
Well i've mentioned multimap where you could map your car with CFGB on some light tune ~200 hp, less fuel consumption, smaller load on DPF, and some powerful when you want the extra fun.
Hey better smoke than burnt valves ( but sometimes it looks hideous)
