Additional reversing light
Additional reversing light
I'm thinking of adding an additional reversing light to my Polo to supplement the rather feeble single standard lamp. Before I start seriously working out the logistics of fitting the physical lamp, I want to establish how straightforward (or not) it would be electrically. Would it be a simple case of tapping the new wiring into the existing reversing lamp circuit? Or would the CANBUS system start throwing up errors with an extra lamp added? My knowledge of car electrical systems is stuck in the dark ages before CPUs and such started to complicate things. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you'll be allright with tapping an extra light into existing wiring.

Hi,
if you have the 6c platform it is easy to adjust (with VCDS cable) the fog light to be active when you engage reverse. or any other light.

Re: Additional reversing light
iichel made double reversing light and kept his fog light too. I wanted to to that to mine, but instructions were unclear to me how to do it

Re: Additional reversing light
I used a custom-made LED light with normal fitting and an extra wire. The fitting provides GND and power to the white light while the red is powered by the extra wire.
