Fuel supply

Post by Convertible »

One morning car just won't stay running. It starts then pretty much immediately dies. Fuel pump making a hum so assume working and I have fuel going to the fuel rail (checked by removing pipe) but no fuel to the Carb (pipe at rear of carb). Is this normal or is it possible the fuel filter is blocked for the carb supply?

Appreciate any thoughts an/or ideas.

Well left the battery disconnected for a few days (reset ECU?) and then reconnected and it now starts and runs albeit roughly to start but after warming up seems a bit better although not perfect. Will try it again in the morning if the rain stops. Battery disconnection might be a red herring?

Anyway anyone with any ideas what could be wrong would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Cleaned plugs, changed Thermostat (gauge always read cool now ok), removed and cleaned fuel injectors, cleaned and re gapped plugs to 1mm (non were far out). Still runs with a slight hesitation on the throttle when accelerating. Only thing I can think of to check is the coil packs?

Any other possibilities of what I should check?

Thanks
