6C start/stop system error

Hi, after 85000 miles of no problems with stop start on car just had message saying stop start error that came on during journey. Done a quick check of battrery voltage with engine off/on and seems ok. Can anyone give some idea of what sensors etc I can check etc prior to what I suspect might be costly visit to dealership. Thanks

doesn't make sense to visually inspect sensors. the best way of action is a scan tool, check why the engine or energy management is unhappy.
