Does this engine have some kind of EGR valve, if yes check that
No CBZB engines does not have EGR valves for sure ... i dont know what may causes the vibrations.
I didnt have enough spare time this weekend, but a gave the car quick inspection and i found the following:

1. first and foremost, i have the old cam chain with the silver cam chain tensioner probably revision 2
2. the fuel line coming from under the car through the engine bay is mounted to its bracket thus it makes no ticking noises
3. there is a squeaking sound coming from the v-belt section, visually checked and wiggled all the pulleys and none of them seems work (but thats with a question mark)

Questions: Any decent site or ebay seller in europe selling original oem part, im looking for the newer timing chain kit

TIA everybody :D :D

So long time no see, as i continue me quest for preventive maintenance to my 3 month old (old car but new to me) I have the following updates.

1. I changed the spark plugs for new NGK ones
Comments on this job:
Although the spark leads have been changed 15k klms ago, the wouldnt come out due to corrosion so i installed
them again after testing them with new dielectric grease
2. Finally found a mechanic to install me the kit B cam chain kit, along with new oil pump gear and chain
Comments on this job:
The engine was in good condition, oil pickup was clean and the oil pan was spotless.
3. Again new oil and filter (only 3k klms the previous one had)
4. New coolant
5. New oil housing gasket
6. New belt
7. Recharge the AC system
8. New transmission fluid

These as far as the engine.
Now for the chassis:
1. Control arm bushing (Lemforder)
2. Control arm anti roll bar (Lemforder)
3. Ball joints (Lemforder)

Jobs ToDo:
(With no particular order)
1. Install an oil catch can and clean intake air boot and throttle body
2. New front brake discs and pads (because these are squeaking), any recommendations ?
3. See the vibrating problem on IDLE? Its reduced but not gone (maybe engine mounts ?)
4. After suspension stug installed alignment was s**t (even if a prof did it) and the are a lot of vibrations when travelling with 130-140+ kms/h any guesses ?
5. Rear window seals
6. Buy used pair rims for windertyres
7. Maybe paint correction ? i have 2 scratch from a key.. and im pissed

Hi!

I am very familiar with this engine (CBZB) as I have a 2011 Golf S with 151k miles (about 240 000 - 250 000 km) on it.

I am still running the OEM timing gear.

I went through a gearbox as well (LHY 6-speed 0AJ).

Let me know how you make out on removing the intake and walnut blasting to remove carbon as I haven't done that on mine.

My CBZB seems to be running very well at the moment.
