Hi
I’m in the process of changing my fuel filter but can’t remove these connectors, does anyone know how they come off?

Re: How to remove fuel filter connectors
I've never worked on one of these filter types, but do you not just insert something into the square "holes" and press down, then pull off?
Re: How to remove fuel filter connectors
I assumed so as well but pressing down/to the sides doesn't seem to move anything. There is a square hole on the other side as well - so two holes for each connector.
They move freely around and slighty forward/back, so I thought maybe they're like those pill bottles where you have to press in or something...

Re: How to remove fuel filter connectors
Thought I'd scour google quick to find some help on this, but all the diesel filters I see for the 1.2tdi seem to have plastic connectors where you have metal ones. Some video I found actually had no connectors but straight hose to barb on filter. Very strange.
I would guess to release them, push them forward slightly and depress both sides through those square holes at the same time then wiggle and pull them back.
Just very curious why they these connections are different from others I see.

My common sense seems to be lacking a bit haha, doing exactly what you said worked. You have to push them in first, and then press in both sides (I used two pens) and then push it outwards.2226 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2023 7:25 pm Thought I'd scour google quick to find some help on this, but all the diesel filters I see for the 1.2tdi seem to have plastic connectors where you have metal ones. Well there goes the rest of my evening... google'ing to find these connectors. My OCD is telling me I can't leave this be.
