Re: Wireless android car adapter
in my optimism...
I have sent for a cheap version (Android wired to wireless) off Aliexpress..
I'll post some feedback.. good or bad later on.. probably take another 6-7 days before it gets here.

Re: Wireless android car adapter
I have AA wireless (the early version with different chip inside) and it works well. For some reason I am getting disconnected at place where my father lives and I never found out why but it might be problem with early units.

Well I got it and after a short while got it set up.. now it works without wires.. interestingly the steering wheel controls work as when wired. some of these gadgets work only from the car display screen and no voice controls either.. not worth buying then in my estimation.grazuncle2 wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:20 pm in my optimism...

I fitted it discreetly at the side of the compartment
PS.. I took some power readings off the USB side of this thing.. it uses 0.1 amp. (this would be a comparative massive parasitic draw normally) I was concerned as when i took the ignition key out the power light was still on on the device!.. this would be some draw over night.. However the car powers down the USB sockets after a time with ignition off. Phew!

Thanks for the update, I ordered one yesterday, should arrive tomorrow, I was going to stick it to the top of that compartment but I really like the location you have yours so I might just copy, thanks for the idea!grazuncle2 wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 1:43 pmWell I got it and after a short while got it set up.. now it works without wires.. interestingly the steering wheel controls work as when wired. some of these gadgets work only from the car display screen and no voice controls either.. not worth buying then in my estimation.grazuncle2 wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:20 pm in my optimism...

Touche..
I was going to do the same thing! Then thought I'd like to verify that it was either powered or not.
Ps. I used a small amount of clear double sided gel tape in case it needed removal for some reason

Re: Wireless android car adapter
I'll have to give the device a few weeks use before giving any real opinion (i.e. if it doesn't pack up for instance
)
I didn't say what I paid.. £25 with VAT 7-11 day delivery from China, included (it came in 7 days)

Re: Wireless android car adapter
Voicecontrol, press the button a bit longer.
My wife's T-Cross has Android Auto/Apple CarPlay but not the speech module.
By pressing a little longer on the steeringwheel button, she can enter the destination through speech
Give it a try

perhaps this tip was not for me.. I'm not having any problem with the voice control with the newly fitted device. I know others have mentioned it, (no controls working on steering wheel) on YT reviews though
