Aftermarket Infotainment System Features
Aftermarket Infotainment System Features
I've just bought a Jap import 2014 Polo BlueGT 6R and had the dealer replace the screen with an aftermarket android system. Is it generally possible to have the car system settings working on aftermarket screens? There seems to be a settings screen with A/C, TPMS, electric mirror controls etc. available but I cannot turn any of them on/off (see attached). Should I contact dealer to see if they can be enabled or does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Aftermarket Infotainment System Features
There are menus on these aftermarket radios that are impossible to work due to:
- The equipment to which the screen refers does not exist in your vehicle model.
- The control units are not intended to function that way.

Think you'd outta luck there.
Those things are too generic.
They usually have a canbus decoder but I think those need to be specific to the vehicle and features they're trying to manage. Highly doubt there's one that'll do all those features.
Just use it for the entertainment value and improved sound/media.
I've only ever found 2 almost-fully functional aftermarket headunit replacements. One of them was from Alpine. Both are not for Android money.
