Ticking noise on cold start m

Hi all,

For the past few months I have had a ticking noise on cold start on my 1.4 16v petrol. After a few minutes of driving it disappears. I’ve had the car since 60k now at 104k. Regular full servicing every 5k miles with OEM filters etc. recently replaced the whole exhaust with no leaks so can rule that out. I’ve read around and my guess is tappets - sounds like it in my opinion(really hoping not piston slap)

wondering if anyone else has experience with this problem before I go stripping down the top end to replace the lifters.

Make a audio/video recording. It might help others identify the source of the sound.
