Hi,
Yesterday the blade would not flip out when I pressed the button on the key fob, but managed to get it out by holding down the button and using nails to pull it out.
Once it was 50% open it swung out quick, so something is sticking somewhere.
Any ideas please?, was thinking of replacing the body/case as plenty on ebay, but I can't find one that allows you to use the existing blade!
Thanks
Key Blade not releasing

Re: Key Blade not releasing
Dsg cars have a solenoid that hold the key unless the car is in P. These solenoids can go bad.

hello, my problem is with the key fob not flicking out the key blade when I press the silver button on the fob.

Re: Key Blade not releasing
Perhaps you could disassemble your key by following one of the many guides in YouTube (such as https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JmcxyVachho). It should be pretty apparent what is sticking once you have a look inside. They do look a bit finicky to reassemble though, so be ready for that. From here you can determine if you need any replacement parts.

Re: Key Blade not releasing
there is a spring, you wind it tight when you re-assemble the key. and then the key will flip out. Maybe there is an issue with the spring
