Heated Steering Wheel - quick question

Hi all. Hope you all had a good Christmas.

Quick question but my 12yr old Nephew jumped into my car to take a look and straight away said “oh you’ve hit a heated steering wheel”

No I don’t, I said but looking at the steering wheel closer I could see the heated steering wheel symbol on the haptic pad.

Obviously it doesn’t light up when ignition starts, but as an interesting point I wondered if this was something which could be activated via OBD11 or similar.

This is purely a question of interest or useful to someone else, if someone in the know has already managed to activate.

I'm not sure the polo bcm, slip ring and climate control support it. The touch buttons always have the silhouet. But not activated.

I have the heated steering wheel on mine but not done through the steering wheel it has a separate button for it.
