So as some of you may remember, Ive just got a dsg polo, I've always had a manual before.
My question is. In my manual I could brop the handbrake and roll the car, its been so long, I can not think how to do it with the auto, with the car turned off. When I tried to move the lever, it would not, also then apon starting i could hear a rattle under the car, it stopped once I drove off. Next day I tried to move to leave again, knowing it would not move, just to see if I got the rattle and did, only notice when I did the above, got cars first mot etc Oct so will get them to look, but how do I roll the car?

I would have thought that you need to start the engine and put it in Neutral, then take the hand brake off.

Re: How to roll a auto
There must be a way to roll the car, there is many reasons why, and supplying power to do so should not be needed. something simple on a manual.
P.s I'm guessing there be like a pin hole under the gear lever boot?

i think you can put it into neutral with the engine off and otherwise there is a red emergency pin below the shift boot you can pull

Sorry, don't want to hijack the post but how are you finding the Dsg? I like you have always had manual and are considering Dsg. Are you enjoying the experience?TrebleTA wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 3:27 pm So as some of you may remember, Ive just got a dsg polo, I've always had a manual before.

Turn ignition on but don't put foot on brake. Move lever to N, handbrake off, push.
