Hi. Our 2004 Polo 1.2 12v is definitely a UK car, not an import and hasn't had a replacement engine. But has no engine number on the V5. Not in the boot. It's always difficult getting parts as it doesn't appear on some websites.
Insurance is tough too, as we don't know what model it is. It's just listed as Blue Polo 1.2. There are 2 numbers on the end of the block (opposite end from the battery) One is 000693092011032010. Is that what the number should look like? I know the engine is an AZQ.
Thanks for any ideas!
John

Re: Engine numbers and ID
The vehicle data sheet SHOULD be in the service book if you have one ? Very rarely is this info transferred to the V5.
Or pay your local vw dealer a visit you will be able to get this information printed out.
