Live traffic updates not working

Post by CricketLover »

Can anyone help me please? I am not currently getting live traffic updated. I have a facelift Polo gti April 2023 plate. I wonder if I have some software updates outstanding as I have a ‘2’ displayed in top right of the screen? When I go into the system sub menu, I have selected software updates but nothing seems to happen, it says Software 0306, with Navigation database 0306.
The live updates were working fine a couple of weeks ago and successfully navigated me around long delays on the A303/M3/M25.

Pull down menu in infotainment, swipe the screen to the left.
Here you can find the messages from the number 2 in the circle.

Is your globe icon white or grey?
Privacy setting to allow all?

I had the same issue, all updates done, globe icon white, live traffic info working but didn't update the maps.

I had to do a hard reset, not the 10sec power button, but back to factory settings.

After that it updatet the maps and info.

Do not forget to become primary user again you need both keyfobs in the car en know your username and password of weconnect

Brilliant! Thank you very much. The live traffic updates are now working, however the ‘2’ at top right has only changed to ‘1’, so I guess the maps update hasn’t yet happened. I am thinking might wait a few days to see if this fixes itself, as I presume if I do the factory reset I will lose all the radio stations I have saved plus destinations in the Sat nav?
I have tried to select software update but nothing seems to happen - yet.
Thanks again, since getting the vehicle I have found having the traffic delays showing on the screen very beneficial as using my local knowledge I can then sometimes choose my own diversion route and not necessarily what the nav system suggests.
Friends tell me I should use Waze instead of the VW built in system, but I don’t know if can view that through the info screen? Also I don’t expect it will get displayed on the dash - in front of my eyes.

With app connect, i.e. waze or maps or flitsmeister (dutch program) will display on the headunit.
Behind the steeringwheel only arrow directions,it cannot display anything other than VW standard navigation

Mapupdate is not displayed by that number.
To view current version, go to settings and scroll to information (the one below factory reset)
There you can see the map version, it should read 24.8 (year and month)

Factory reset is like said, as the car came from the factory.
All changes made by coding (VCDS/ODIS etc.) will not be erased

When starting up, the start guide will search for all radio stations again, so no worries there.
Destinations are easy to put in again.

Good luck!
