Water under rear seat
Water under rear seat
Hi, does anyone know what this pipe is, under the rear seats? I am fixing the rear light gaskets, but also wondered what this, there seems to be some water around it, thanks

Re: Water under rear seat
that cable is for your left rear ABS speed sensor
Re: Water under rear seat
ok thanks -- so the water around it is probably from the boot then, since i assume this cable would be a dry inside..?
Re: Water under rear seat
I had this recently. My issue was water coming in from the holes for the rear lights. I have a 9n with the 9n3 lights, installed for 14 years and never had an issue.
I tried the following first, cleaned behind the lights, then new bulb holders, then new seals. None of which solved the issue.
To diagnose the issue I used a hose pipe to spray water around all the rear area, whilst I looked inside to see where it was coming from.
I used roofing flashing tape to reduce the size of the holes and build out the contact for the seals. This is what stopped the water getting in.
If you have the same issue, unplug and take apart the number plate lights so they can dry out as these will rot.
Could also be the rear washer fluid hose if you have had cold weather recently, its in the left-hand side of the boot, behind the carpet. If you haven't used a strong enough solution of the washer fluid for cold weather, it has a pop off connector in that location.
