GTi Spash Screen

Post by Ian T »

Not a biggie at all but on the very odd and rare occasion a GTi Splash Screen appears briefly on the infotainment screen when I start the ignition. The first time it happened I actually thought that I had imagined it :D

I wonder why it happens so infrequently if at all.... any ideas anyone?

Yeah, it's defaulted to load the splash screen on every startup.

Weirdly it did it just now but normally it just goes straight to the 'welcome' thing.

I have an R Line and I've discovered that if you wait about 30 seconds before turning on the ignition the splash screen comes on everytime...if you listen closely you'll hear a faint static pulse like when you turn on or off a radio๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธvery odd but it does it everytime.

Just tried it, waited 35 seconds (it's amazing how long 35 seconds can take when you're clock watching :D) but it didn't work for me

Just another one of VWs peculiarities I guess ๐Ÿซฃ
Just to satisfy my own curiosity also I turned off the ignition and locked the car whilst still in it,waited for the dash display to fade out and then unlocked and waited 30 secs before turning the ignition on and the splash screen duly appeared ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ

The GTi splash screen came up again today and I figured that I hadn't touched the brake pedal.... so I tried that again an hour later, without touching the brake pedal, but it went straight to the 'Welcome' thing!!!!????

For some weird reason the whole getting in the car and waiting a while before turning the ignition on has suddenly started working.... mahoosively unimportant I know, but it now works and I'm all the more happier for it :)

Maybe there's been a software update. Such is technology these days. So much simpler when your radio etc. just had knobs to twiddle.
