High Pressure Fuel Pump

Hey guys, has anyone ever had problems with his hpfp on his 6r ?
I got a cbz engine 105hp (2010 model) and i smell some gas from my oil.
I changed the oils and the smells keeps coming back..
I removed the pump myself to look at it but i do not know what to look at, changed the o-ring, changed the taper aswell with oem one.

How could i determine if the pump is leaking gas in the oil chamber ? Could i remove it and spray it with brake cleaner and see if it leaks through the piston/ring ?
Would brake cleaner damage it ?

I have 200.000 with the pump and never changed it .

Could be sticky rings and the fuel is washing past the rings into the sump.
Does it consume oil?

Noticed my car smelt a bit fuelly the last week or so , ive checked the oil ive checked all round the engine in the usual areas but no fuel leaking or staining .
I will say though that every year at the start of the colder season this happens so im wondering whether its to do with the colder times of the year maybe , no issues with start up either .
Take the car for a good drive .

It does not, but the oil level is a bit higher than it was refilled.

I removed again the pump the other day and tried to smell it in order to identify gas smell on the piston/spring but i did not smell anything.

Oil level up is a bit concerning.
Don't know what to recommend to you here except for swapping out the pump. Don't think they're cheap though. I would look for a vehicle breaking for parts and just test the fuel pump off that before deciding.

I had start up issue during the summer, i would try to switch on the engine (with a/c on, lights etc ) but it would not crank and the lights/a/c would go off instantly.
I have been smelling the gas all summer long and it still smells afterr 2 oil changes.
Some people say it is normal in some tsi/tfsi engines.
Others say it is the injection system or pump.
I used obd scanner and checked the high fuell pressure actual value, and it was 45000 kpa with engine on and running. When i switch the engine off, the value remained the same
and i when i switched the engine on and running again the value increased for a moment and then it went back to 45k kpa.
The fact the value it did not drop when i switched it off, means according to what i have watched, that the injection is not leaking pressure.
So far i have also checked only the 2 (easiest to pull out) sparks , they have normal wear . I have to check the other 2 aswell.

Also i have a p2279 fault (intake loss) that for one month was completely absent, it came back yesterday after i check the pum (have re positioned it same way as other times with no issue) I sincerely do not know what the fuk is goin on with this car, it drives me crazy.

I mean injector is not closing completely. Fuel might be trickling out into the combustion chamber.
Too much fuel pooling in there will cause a very rich mixture at start up and lead to hard starting.
Fuel is thin and will wash past the rings into the sump and into the oil.

Injector will leak if the tip is dirty preventing it from shutting completely.
Direct injection injectors live a very hard life compared to the older port injection (injector in the manifold) systems. Carbon could well build up on or inside the tips.

That's the only other place I can see fuel getting into your oil if the pump is not leaking.

You can try and run a fuel system/injector cleaner through the system.
Try Liqui-Moly ProLine Direct Injection cleaner which has PEA (Polyetheramine) in it.
Or Ravenol Extreme Petrol Clean, but I preferred the Liqui-Moly cleaner.
Just dump a can in the full tank of fuel and then check again later if the issue is still there. Might want to change the oil when you use it so you don't mistake the old fuel for new fuel in the oil.

I had done this but with not the pro-line, i used the normal one.
I had done this before i realised the smell, because i have p2279 trouble codes and thought i would give it a try.

After using it, i realised the smell and i blamed the injection cleaner for that smell, so i changed the oil.
The smell of course it came back.

The injection leak would also ruin the sparks i guess, so i guess i have to check the other two.
I have checked the first two (right to left) and seem normal, if one ofthe remaining ones are bad and show that rich mixture then the injector that is near must be leaking as you described.
