Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
Re: Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
I see your steering wheel is klr enabled. In acc long coding, add the bit that says you have capacitive steering wheel, now whenever you touch the steering wheel at standstill, your acc is always ready for takeoff, eliminating that 3sec/13sec timer (which is not related to A5 dataset at all, plus we can do 10min timer for you)

Also, when you install the 2Q0 camera for TA you will be required to update the GW to the AR version to have a new adaptation channel available for the steering wheel model with the '5H0' KLR module. This avoids conflicts between the 'TA + heating' and '5H0 KLR'.
Just as a reminder because you should already know this.

@prtvrk thank you for the additional information.prtvrk wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 9:27 pm I see your steering wheel is klr enabled. I've enabled the bit in address 13, tomorrow will test
10min timer is a bit long to take control of the steering wheel I feel. I have also seen KLR emulators sold on AliExpress having unlimited hands off the wheel, scary ! and as a side effect, with emulator installed, emergency assist becomes unavailable it seems, I am not sure.

The problem is, I have Lear gateway from the factory 3Q0907530AC / SW 4388.
Maximum I can update my gateway to 3Q0907530AG / SW 4424.
Looks like.. I will need a new Master

Re: Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
I seem to remember that the AL and AG SWs also add that important adaptation channel for heated steering wheels + TA.
Note:
The GW hardware is important, recently I couldn't update the HW of my GW to AR because of the driving profiles.
I have to settle with my super GW with HW AC and SW AR + FPA for my DCC (you already know that I'm extraordinarily conformist
).
The VW servers don't allow transferring driving profiles to a different HW than the original, that is, the dishonest VW is the custodian (thief) of the driving profiles I paid for.
I guess they are content in the future with selling Audis in China and Porsches in Korea and treating us Europeans as if we were stupid with their clown rules.
Tyrannies spread everywhere. I only mention tyrannies so as not to invoke the dead of the past. HH
---
By the way, I would love to hear your review of the 'Toy'-ota you bought, I definitely lost all interest in European vehicle brands. Thinking of BYD, KIA or Toyota.
---
Algorithmic tyranny also works perfectly, it involves naming certain brands of vehicles without any pretensions and on the few websites that I allow certain licenses they try to invade my space with matters related to said brands... Humanity is definitely dead.
My dear Doctor, one day I will tell you by email everything that happened with my heart operation and the extraordinary corruption of the health systems to which they intend to subject us with the connivance of the damned rats that supposedly represent us.
It is not difficult to find out who is responsible and who is behind this in the beautiful and wonderful EUROPEAN UNION.

Thank you my dear Ciclo master of the information
Ya I know, I have to pen down about my new Toyota family wagon I bought. Overall it's a great car, I am enjoying a lot
Soon I will share my ownership experience.
On the personal front, I am very happy that you've made a remarkable recovery. With good deeds, prayers of loved ones, and with a bit of luck you've got a second life!
Happy to be alive

Great!
The important test will be when you install the 2q0 camera and verify that '5H0' KLR + TA + steering wheel heating work correctly at the same time and there are no conflicts that make the TA (LA+ACC) unusable.
With '3G0' KLR unit there is no problem in this regard in all its versions.
Surprisingly there are TOP Sport steering wheels with 3G0 KLR units in some places on the wonderful planet Earth.

Re: Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
Preparation to upgrade stock A5 assistant camera 3Q0 to 2Q0 for Travel Assist (TA)
I bought the 2Q0 camera and its heating pad with the help of Szymon. 3q0-2q0 adapters were bought from AliExpress with the help of Amir. Thanks to both of them

The 2Q0 adapters are made of Aluminium and are of excellent quality
I decided to upgrade the SW version of 2Q0 camera from C/1301 to D/1421 version. There are also D/1401-J/1423- G/1501,1505 - H/1602 versions. 15xx & 16xx versions are UNECE compliant.
Repinning from 3Q0 to 2Q0

Flashing the hanging camera in parking

First, I flashed the firmware loader( 2Q0980653D_0194_FBL), it flashed quickly

Next, the real fun begins. Flashing the firmware (2Q0980653D_ 1421).
Terrible! it took 2hrs 31min to flash the firmware.
I wasn't expecting it would take so long! According to reports normally it would take 1 to 1.5hr to flash. I had to connect the car battery charger as well as the laptop charger. It is also possible to flash with a running engine and enough fuel. But it won't allow to crank the engine when already flashing in progress.

After 2.5hrs of anxious moments, the firmware was successfully updated. During the flash, I was getting a feeling that my VAS 6154 china adapter will brick the camera but it didn't
The stock dataset and coding remained unaffected by updating the firmware.

As expected only 3 errors remaining. Yeah CP error greeted me.. thank you VW

Uploaded the original unmodified T-roc dataset.

Only 2 errors remaining now, CP and calibration. I could have gone ahead with resolving both errors but I didn't. Did the check to see if the new camera will fit correctly with adapters. It fits snuggly. The assistant camera cover also fits perfectly over the new camera with adapters.

There is another super exciting upgrade coming up
for which I need to access VW online servers. I plan to club the 2Q0 CP removal at the same time. I have no intentions to get SWAP's for VZE, pACC etc.. practically all those features are useless in my country. I will be more than happy to just have working Travel assist (TA)
After all is said and done..3Q0 camera is back to its place for now
I will update as and when progress happens.

Re: Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
Is there any known improvement to update the 2Q0 camera from version C to D?
I'll have to remove my camera to update it on my mini test bench
while I read an entire book on recent/ancient history civilizations.
I need to check some things about coinage and trade in those times... although we all know that it depends on 'who' writes the History.
However, silver is unequivocally silver...
What do you know about UNECE versions?
---
Any device that cannot be updated directly and for free in the 21st century is pure garbage/junk... Scrap!
I wish everyone a lot of fun for smart shopping for non-updatable European cars during Black Friday and White Christmas.

Re: Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
I have no personal experience, but from what I have heard, it is definitely recommended to update the 2Q0 camera from C to D version 1421. Unlike 13xx SW, the logic of Travel Assist operation is different. Travel Assist button now switches between ACC and Travel Assist, without activating the mode itself, so it can be in passive mode. Mode selection is memorized after ignition off and unit sleeps, so there is no need to constantly press two buttons (RES and TA).
Important:
SW 15xx/16xx are UNECE compliant, no much functional improvements but added tightened security... beware!!
If you upgrade the camera from 12xx/13xx/14xx to 15xx/16xx ALL EXISTING SWAPs ( FACTORY INSTALLED OR RETROFITTED ) ON CAMERA WILL BE DELETED !!!
Rolling back SW to older version will NOT restore SWAPs. Although, if SWAPs are factory installed, it is theoretically possible to restore them through SVM online ( not sure/confirmed)
Other important information I have gathered:
1) If using bootloader to update SW, flash the original unedited dataset first. Using bootloader on modified dataset can be deadly, very high chances of camera getting bricked( 99.99%)
2) Select correct bootloader version for particular SW, selecting wrong bootloader will kill the camera for sure.
Example; The correct sequence of BL/SW to upgrade or downgrade would be like this
Original 1301(mine) > B194 >1421 > B220 > 1423 > B208 > 1505 > B217 > 1602 > B220 > 1423 etc..
3) Flashing SW 12xx>13xx>14xx will preserve calibration/swaps
4) Don't flash SW 1423 available on mibsolution, it is corrupt and will kill the camera !!
5) SW 1421 appears to be the best version and popular choice. Though, there are reports that Sw 1423, 15xx, & 16xx work slightly better or no worse than sw 1421.
If anyone finds that, any of the information I shared above is incorrect, I will be happy to be corrected

Thanks for the super and detailed information.
The best of the worst is yet to come.
Current humans still have 'primate' movements whose logic is only understood by our brain but not by our conscious. We have already spoken and have experienced the times when the capacitive button for the steering wheel heating is inadvertently pressed.
Switching from TA to only ACC with a 'capacitive TA button' can be done inadvertently and due to absolute confidence/belief in going in TA, you can have a small incident at best.
... (planned obsolescence?
).
If anyone (primate human) finds that, any of the information I shared above is incorrect, I will be happy to be corrected.

Re: Patil's T-roc 2020 1.5Tsi evo+Dsg7 RHD
I think the way I have coded the behavior of my 2Q0 camera for the operation of the capacitive ACC and TA buttons is perfect and very intuitive.
In no case is it possible to manually go from TA to just ACC with the MFSW buttons, this behavior is done automatically by the system in case it is not possible to maintain the line, the system automatically recovers the TA when the line maintenance is available again.
With the buttons it is only possible to go from ACC to TA.
The ACC can be established when it is in standby mode, both the distance with the preceding vehicle and the preferred speed.
I don't know if I mentioned when I installed my 2Q0 camera that it is possible to have the TA without having the TA button, that is, with the Assistants button (MFSW). The TA function is performed by the Assistants button (MFSW). You just have to code the camera in the correct way, but you have to have the Assistants button in the stalk as well to be able to call them in the AID.
I prefer the MFSW buttons the TA button, it's more OEM.

The only thing that can't be displayed is the TA indication on the Golf 7.5 AID, only the ACC indication is displayed, i.e. without the car symbol.
However, the behaviour of the lines (brightness levels) is correct for TA, in its different AID visualizations.
In any case, the TA is a real pleasure to drive. I would say that the entire vehicle is 70% better.
...with DCC, 200% better...
...with 312 brakes, 3000% better...

It is possible, atleast with sw1421. I just tested it. This TA thing is new to me, I will come back and write after thoroughly testing it in my T-roc.
