6C Fuel Pump mice / Looking for fuel plug photo

Post by will3733 »

Hey UKPolos, Found some mice that have kindly been living above my fuel pump which is why my gauge would sometimes intermittently stop and start (usually for a minute or so)

Someone that works for my Dad's garage put a new fuel plug on for me but I'm still getting a fuel pump gauge error (the garage isn't a specialist and doesn't do wiring by trade)

The pump works and I can drive but I have no gauge (have to reset the mile counter and fill it to the brim around 350 - 400 miles)

I tried to clear the fault in VCDS but its still showing an error "Resistance too high"

Code: Select all

If anyone else with a 6C is able to send me a photo of their fuel plug so I can check the data wires are correctly connected I would be very grateful

If anyone has any suggestions as to what the fix / issue could be, I would be very grateful

My dad said they tried another fuel pump itself from the scrap yard which had the same issue

I managed to find a salvage photo online which shows the colour of the original plug wires, it looks like the wiring on my new plug is correct

I googled 6C0 920 930 from my VCDS scan and it looks like that PN is for the ODO/gauge cluster I wonder if that's where the fault lies

If anyone has replaced this before or has any tips or info that would be appreciated
