Drivers Footwell Water Ingress

Post by spencesd »

Good Morning

I have a 2017 Polo Match and I have noticed that there is water pooling in the drivers footwell, it is literally on the base of the floor between the pedals and the seat. The carpet does not get wet on the sides or up towards the pedals it is literally the base where your feet would go. Any ideas please ? I am wondering if the windscreen seal has gone on one side (if this is possible) it is literally just the drivers footwell nowhere else. The vehicle hasn't been driven so it is happening whilst stationary on the drive.

Hello, check that the plenum chamber cover is correctly positioned on the windscreen seal.

If the plenum chamber cover is "slightly" lifted from the windscreen seal it is enough to cause water ingress, even if it appears to be well installed.

Tip:
Press the edge of the cover along its entire length on the fixing area with the windscreen seal to check that it is firmly placed.
It has to be perfectly flush/aligned/level.
