There is a clunking noise emanating from the front nearside area of the car and I'm pretty sure it's coming from the shock absorber. The shock absorber appears to be functioning correctly as there isn't excessive "bounce". I can reproduce a clunking by rocking the car and I've taken the wheel off and all looks good inside the wheel arch - nothing broken or loose.
Below is a link to a video where the noise can be heard - does anyone have an ideas as to what may be wrong and what I should do? Thanks

Re: Shock absorber clunking noise
Mileage? How is the steering? Wishbone/track control bearings can fail as can suspension strut-top bearings.

Re: Shock absorber clunking noise
Mileage is around 80K
Steering is fine and in recent years I've replaced the CV joint, track rod ends and anti roll drop links.
I'm pretty sure it's the shock and I've ordered a replacement pair.
Will try to replace this weekend and will post an update when I do.
