2009 6R polo throttle body clicking noise.

Post by JoshB90 »

Hi,

First post on the forum, so not sure if I’ve done this right or not.

When I have been driving and come to a stop to park and turn the car off, my car clicks about 20 times if not more. I’m sure the noise is coming from my throttle body, then stops, I have check the codes and I have

- P0123 Throttle / Pedal Position Sensor / Switch A Circuit High

Is this fixable? Or will I need a new Throttle Body?

I did take my Throttle body off last weekend and cleaned it up because it was very dirty. Not sure if I should have took off the black cap and looked in there aswell I didn’t look in there at all.

Thanks
Josh

Typically, after removing the power from a TB, as you would normally do to remove it to clean it up a bit, you are advised to perform a "calibration" on it using a VW Group compliant scan tool like VCDS. Maybe it is called "BASIC SETTINGS" it is a few years since I've used that function within VCDS.

I've heard the TB on my wife's August 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS 6MT performing some sort of "self check/cal" after it has been switched "now and again".

Yeah on mine too (1.2 TSI 90 from end 2014).

Before start up and after switch engine off: TB perform like a self alignement.
