Hello dear friends,
I need your precious help, I just bought a 2017 Polo 6c 1.4 tdi for a good price with no multifunction steering wheel and no maxidot cluster. I thought as my old 6r i could retrofit all this important things but I spoke with an Italian Shop who is specialized on retrofits and they said is impossible to swap the cluster and for the MFSW is going to be really expensive. Do you confirm this? For me it's a bad feeling hold a plastic steering wheel with no buttons and also having the mib2 unit don't have the buttons on the steering wheel and don't have the cluster with all datas is really weird to me...
Thank You

Re: polo 6c - retrofit Help
mfsw depends on the bcm thats in your car
swapping the cluster probably needs a new cluster but is not impossible

Thank you for your reply, just few questions, regarding the cluster do you still have errors on it? About the Steering wheel, if I add some with CC buttons on it does they work? I already have Cruise Control by factory.
Thank you
Thank you

Everything are working fine.Paride89 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 9:00 am Thank you for your reply, just few questions, regarding the cluster do you still have errors on it? I don't have CC on my Polo, but i think it will work the CC from the buttons on the steering wheel.
Re: polo 6c - retrofit Help
So do you suggest me to buy a MFSW with CC buttons? Last thing, do you have any tutorial to do all this retrofits?

Re: polo 6c - retrofit Help
Like I said, I don't have CC nor ACC in my car. I bought a MFSW with buttons that include buttons for ACC, and it works fine, just the buttons for ACC don't respond to anything. So I think it might work with your car too.Paride89 wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 7:13 pm So do you suggest me to buy a MFSW with CC buttons? Last thing, do you have any tutorial to do all this retrofits?

There are tutorials for the MFSW all over the internet, this one is right to the point.

For the cluster swap, the procedure is easy, you just swap the cluster. But the coding and all the other things you have to do (remove componet protection, tranfer all the data from the old to the new cluster) is something that only a guy with ODIS and online connection with the VW servers can do.
Re: polo 6c - retrofit Help
so the cluster must be new or can be used?giannis20vt wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 6:07 amLike I said, I don't have CC nor ACC in my car. Re: polo 6c - retrofit Help
I did the swap with a used Cluster 2 year ago.
I don't know what applies to 2025 because VW changes the procedures every year and tends to make them even more complex.
