Well, I've bought a new screen for my DM because the new one I installed doesn't quite convince me, the colours are not very bright and there are other small deficiencies typical of copies (90€ for the copy vs XXX€ for the supposedly original 'TRULY'). I didn't even know I had to pay attention to these little details...

Good tools to remove/install the blade 'without damaging it' (hammer, punch, inappropriate pliers), although there is no good tool if you do not know how to use it properly, it is advisable to experiment before final use. I recommend purchasing additional tips for both tools (0,.. 1u).

Concepts:
- I'm going to keep the factory Media Player module (J650) located in the glove compartment as an external audio source (AUX). From factory has a Standard USB cable for audio sources or phone charging.
- In the center console, by replacing the current AUX socket, I'm going to install the USB1 HSD (High-Speed Data Transfer -LVDS protocol-) via USB HUB for full communications and phone charging.
This way, everything will be efficient, comfortable, easy to install and fit perfectly, as if it were made in the factory of your dreams.
Toughts:
Although I have what's needed to install the USB2 HSD (HSD cable and USB), and it's an very easy taks, I won't be doing it now, maybe in the future, depending on personal/family needs. There are already too many connection sources on the Discover Media PQ: CD player, SD card, USB_Media-IN_AUX1, AUX2, USB1 HSD, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.

I checked the original wiring inside the corrugated tube. It's in perfect condition. I double-taped it with cloth tape when installing the DAB antenna.
I assume the wires that break in this section of wiring tend to break in colder/harsher weather conditions.
My 13-year-old 6R has always slept in the garage.
Fusebox SB. +30. RL.
I already had the wires installed for the +30 signal and Reverse Light signal from the previous PQ RVC KA1, so it was just a matter of cutting and splicing the wires in the left trunk space (C-pillar) and running the video signal parallel to the original wiring to the Discover Media. Easy peasy.
I have the Discovery Media project almost finished, much more information coming soon.

I also installed a 20A fuse in Fusebox SB45 slot instead of the factory 15A fuse, as otherwise the 15A fuse would blow due to the initial draw of the devices on this power line... and one of the main reasons I increased the thickness of the power/ground in the wiring adapter.
I left the 15A fuse in 'to test' how it would blow... and indeed it did.
I've already installed/overlaid the DM, and I'm running functional testing and learning how to use it.

These 5Q0 rear radars work exactly the same as when I had them installed in the Golf.
At the moment, my 6R doesn't have an audible warning signal when reversing into nearby cross traffic, and of course, it doesn't have automatic braking.
The on-screen signals are clear and 'very helpful'.

POLO 6R. Discover Media project. NEW shark fin antenna 'AM/FM1' + GPS. First step.
Discover Media doesn't like non-original antennas.
My wonderful old shark fin antenna AM/FM1 + GPS has worked perfectly all these years for the RNS 510 without a diagnostic error... but since the GPS antenna is non-original, and despite working correctly with the DM, now, the diagnostics detect an Open Circuit fault.

I'm going to fix this by building a new fully OEM shark fin antenna (electronically speaking) for both 'AM/FM1' and GPS 'more updated'.

It's not a perfect job, it's a test to make sure the/my template is correct.
Just as I was finishing it, my little grinder/cutter stopped working, it was too hot.
...this steel plate for this test is at least three times stronger than car sheet metal, it's what I used to build the structural supports for the BSD radars.
I have to look for cordless grinders, or those with 135W power, the inverter only delivers a maximum of 150W.
Since I washed the car to make the hole in the roof, I took some photos of what the MQB RVC KA1 looks like.
Both VW emblems now have a gloss black background (6C/Golf7) on my 6R R-line.

Only for charging devices with a USB-C charging port, not for data transmission. Despite the coding/adaptation possibilities it was not possible for me to make J650 MEDIA-IN compatible 'as an AUX socket' with Discover Media and the reason for installing this new cable with USB-C.
For phone charging it is a very good reason to keep the J650 unit in the glove compartment and not throw it away or undo the original installation.

For data transmission, I have the USB1 HSD in the 'center console' and a possible USB2 HSD in the future, both via USB HUB.
