Alarm randomly going off.

Hey all,

Recently picked up a 2019 polo 1.0 se tsi. However over the last few days the alarm has started randomly going off without any form of interference, as far as I can tell.

It’s gone off a couple of times during nights, a few during the day, and once when I was leaving the house to take it out.

Initially I thought it was battery and key fob battery so I replaced both of those, the battery was due a replacement anyway. Neither of these fixed it. The car was also previously stored in a garage so I doubt it’s environmental wear to any of the door/bonnet sensors.

I’ve read it could be the backup battery in the siren, or something do with the ultrasonic sensors inside the car in the roof lining.

If anyone has experienced this before and has a potential fix I’d love to hear it, thanks in advance.

I have had two GTIs , the alarm would go off in heavy rain. Closing the air vents on the dash usually sorted it out
