Can't roll the windows up or down with keyfob anymore

Hello everyone

Since this morning, i'm not able to roll the windows up or down with keyfob anymore.
My battery is charged, and the keyfob cell is brand new too.

Everything is working inside the car for the windows regulator/switch but i can't do this functions anymore. Any ideas ? On a Polo 6R GTi 2011 3doors.

Did you disconnect the battery at any point?
Try to fix it by resetting the comfort function using the power window buttons. It's explained in the owner's manual.

I tried, one touch setting is ok, the window will roll all the way by itself with the interior button no problem…
My battery went low at some point maybe that’s the issue?

It's possible.
Sometimes, disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 20 seconds restores the control modules to life (hard reset) when power is restored.
After this, clear all DTCs with VCDS.
Make sure the comfort function is working correctly.
Then, try raising and lowering the windows with the remote control...

well tried that and still nothing...

Disconnected the battery from the negative terminal for like 2hours or so, replugged the negative and went to codes to see any DTCs.
Cleared them with VCDS (only one from the backup light i think its because its a LED and not an halogen anymore)
Recalibrate the comfort function by using the user manual from my glovebox, one touch windows is working for both driver and passenger side.
Closed the car AND NOTHING. Still nothing happen when i stay pressed on my remote control... Even tried once again with a brand new cell inside the keyfob...

Not really a bid deal but here its really hot during the day and be able to open the windows remotely is so appreciated... When it start to rain too, to close the windows before i even can run outside

From what i can remember, i've done 3 (long) coding/adaptation recently :

At some point you disabled the function from the first VCDS autoscan you posted, then re-enable it.



For the reverse/backup light, test to enabling Byte11 Bit4 BCM, clear DTCs, and rescan to see if the fault returns (it will depend on your BCM software).

Whoever transcribed the bit definitions for the VCDS label in French was having a bad day...

If it's the original, you just need to download the program from ross-tech, otherwise, you'll have to search in other forums dedicated to these matters.

i can confirm that i wanna kill the guy who made the translation on VCDS for the french ppl
anyway, i download VCDS in english and tadaaaa everything is working now, i can now roll my windows with the key like before !

About the reverse light, i tried but... nothing on bit4, tried bit6 but still have the DTC about that. Nothing to worry tbh it's going to stay like that

This GTI has good room for improvement and upgrades... (very nice ).

What improvements upgrades are you thinking of ? I'm taking every ideas cuz i don't really know what is hidden in the electronics (BCM, IC) of my car for exemple

The upgrades to your GTI are those you truly desire.

Regarding the BCM and IC you inquired about, they both need updating.
The BCM needs updating to enable "many" other improvements, and the IC, for example, to enable staging.

IMHO, the best way to update them is by replacing the BCM and IC modules.
The IC can be updated via software, but you need good diagnostic tools like ODIS and VCP, the appropriate software, and the knowledge to modify the EEPROM. To avoid replacing the IC, it's best to send it to experts, like Slavik - madwarlock- (forun member), etc, to have it updated correctly.
The BCM must be physically replaced due to the lack of pins on the one currently installed. In this case, modifications to the original wiring are necessary.

Bigger wheels, bigger brakes, suspensions, etc... it's just a little info and putting on and taking off bolts... easy.
I suppose you'll find good info from the circuits.

oh yeah that's what i was thinking, the fact that the car is from 2011 doesn't help the possibles upgrades..
I'm not expert enough to redo the wiring to replace the BCM to be honest, it's my daily and i don't want to brake it stupidly
It's stayin like this electronicly wise !
