Not that I know of, don't think it makes any noise when it tests it. Maybe something else?

Have you GOT ESP? And what kind of noise is it anyway? Why don't you ask the people at VW?

The ABS has two kinds of tests that it runs. One is electrical, which it tests right after the engine is turned on. You won't notice this at all. If there's a faulty sender, for instance, the light will come on almost right away after you've started your car.

The second test is mechanical. Here, the ABS tests is the pump still works, for instance. It does this by activating the strobe-like pump action, which you *will* be able to notice or even feel. If there's something wrong here, the light will only come on after you done 5 (or something) miles/hour. If there's no light coming on, your car is fine.

The noise cames up every morning, or every time the car's stopped for a long time, when I reach 15/20 km/h.....

Many thanks guys!

It's only a couple of seconds, right? Gotta be the ABS self test.

Yes just a second... like somethink that bite my front brake... :D
Only one shot usually in the morning...

I just call my vendor and he told me that it's not normal feeling some noise from breaks!
Last week he was checked out all my break (when he install the rear kit on post. break and convergence!) and he told me that everythink's okay!

mhmmmm....

Any1 can post me some document that describe the self-test of the ABS and ESP? May be that my vendor is not too skilled on ABS/ESP....
