Just got back from the dreaded mot..the guy took 5mins max to process the car (it was like going to the doctors...in and out in 5 mins) shouted "fine with me..reverse off ramps when it lowers" then walked off to get my certificate.

So i'm very pleased it hasnt cost me anything to get through :-D

Count down to mine next month. I reckon the exhausts gonna fail mine. Otherwise it should be mint as it hasn't been anywhere since March :D

Well, My MOT has been and gone. Passed :D , but got two advisories about my blowing exhaust and apparently my passenger side rear wheel bearing is showing signs of play, and will need adjusting. Nonetheless a very good result.

They took 10mins doing mine, and it failed :(

Nothing serious though, broken exhaust bracket and split CV boot.

The guy took like 20mins to do mine. Think it's coz I had to have the emissions test ontop of the regular checks, with it being an L reg.

older cars still have an emmisions check. or should do anyway.

there's just different tests for ones with & without CATs.

Yeah, thats right. So maybe the CAT test takes longer? Or maybe it just felt like ages. I was nrevous for some reason.

well I took my GT for an MOT test last week and was worried as I'd done a full mechanical rebuild on the car. I was running a spare engine so was worried about emissions, but it sailed through, so the engine was a bargain for £50.

my mk2 failed though at the weekend for both rear wheel bearings and emissions but they are both easily sorted.
