Aerowipers
Daffy, you ever just seen a new car, seen something on it and thought, that is perfect, why are they not all like this? Aerowipers are just that. I will post some more piccies, but you have to have them to apreciate them. Basically, they are super low-profile, so they cut down on noise. Their design has no frame to work loose doesn't resonate, skip or jump, its like its glued to the window. Its just that some dude at bosch thought hmmm, this is how it should be. And he did it. They are silent, and work perfectly.daffy wrote:first time i've ever heard of aero wipers. what exactly is the difference? also on dubpolo's pic, it looks like they're so small that they won't even wipe the full height of the windscreen!
On top of that, they look incredibly cool! You'd think - its only wipers, but so far everyone who has been in my car has noticed them.
They were going to be clamped and use two grub screws underneith to secure them. However, since I took the arms off anyway to do the mod, I drilled the arms and tapped them, so now they won't ever go anywhere.Speedlaw wrote:So how are the mounts fitted to the arms?
Kudos on the work by the way!
Was going to make them black, but there is somthing about aluminium, especially as the car is silver. I kinda like it.
good work i have to admit mate, very impressed with it! i was just wondering, obviously my bro would probably be quite interested, but for future reference, would these adapters fit holder cars? its just i'm fed up with my wipers, and when i get my next car, i was thinking about doing something with them!

Will fit any wiper arm, but conversion is a one way ticket! Your problem then is if the off-the-shelf wiper sets will fit your car. Fortunatley, the 19-21 bosch set fits the 6n2. The 21 might be too long for the Mk3. However, I know that two 19's is ok, and you ca always shorten the 21 inch wiper. You can take the two end caps off the wiper and crop 1/2 inch of either end and neatly put the ends on again. So yes, if your wipers are annoying you, these can be fitted.doug&dan wrote:good work i have to admit mate, very impressed with it! i was just wondering, obviously my bro would probably be quite interested, but for future reference, would these adapters fit holder cars? its just i'm fed up with my wipers, and when i get my next car, i was thinking about doing something with them!

My next question would be how many of these could I make? because, they are a bit tricky to machine, but I have come up with a simpler design based on what I found out. I recon I could make it out of a single piece. If I get bored at work I will have a go at the [JWC Design AeroDapter] Mk2. If I can make it machinable witout a 4th axis, then I can knock lots of em out. I didn't know that they would be so easy to fit once you take the wipers off. Since most people won't want to Tap their wiper arms, I think I can make it by tapping the Dapter.... Yadda Yadda Yadda. I'll shut up now and go faff about with the software. I wanna machine loads of things now.... Hmm cold cold aluminium..... Nice.
well i believe i would be interested!
i measured my wipers and they are 16", however, at a squeeze 19"would just about fit (although in saying that, i neva check them side by side
)
i would probably think about getting some sleeker looking arms as well, as the ones on the mk3 look a bit, wierd!
if you do have plans to make them, please let me know, and i'll give em a test on a mk3 for ya!
if they fit my car, they'll fit a mk2 as well, so theres potential for a wider market!
