5 Stud Conversion

Post by VeeDubDan »

Is it possible to convert a Mk4 to a 5x100 stud pattern, by utilising parts from other VW cars? If so what parts are involved?

There's someone running VR6 gear, but I'm not too sure on how he did that. I assume he needed not only the discs but also the hub assembly and the caliper (obviosly).

You could have blank discs and drums drilled to your specifications as well, but you may have a hard time to find the blanks.

Are you planning something special?

Just sizing up a set of VW 5 stud rims off another model. Perhaps the Long Beach alloys as fitted to the Mk3 Golf Gti. I know it's fairly easy to convert older 4 stud Golfs to 5 stud, just wondering if carriers, discs etc from a Mk3 Golf etc bolt straight on.

Don't think you can get 4x100 --> 5x100 or 5x112 adapters, afaik. The holes overlap, apparently.
