God help me if I could've caught them....

Post by BenMMellor »

Just been loading up my Celica for a weekend away from home (and going to Taddington)

Went to bring the wheelie bin off the drive and noticed the door on my Polo looked odd.
Went over.. some lowlife chav-scum retard has bent the door frame back and stoeln the radio..

I wouldn't mind but why the f*ck couldn't they just smash the window - that's only a £50 excess..

Just been down to the local body shop i use to get them to look.. definite new door is going to be required and cash job with a door provided will be £260.. otherwise through the insurance total cost would be £700-800 to an insurance co with a proper VW door.

I think my excess is £200 on this - but not sure if my 5yrs is protected or not !

any help?

BTW - sorry to hear about the car - I had a similar experience last weekend and I'm still p1ssed off about it all - In my case the scroat dmashed the glass as well as damaged the door but that I could live with - its the damage to the dash board that really gives me the hump

nope - I was in Preston at the girlfriends for the weekend.. we had a Celica club meet on the sunday in Taddington - followed by a 42 car cruise through the peaks to Bakewell... all good fun.

I need a new 6n complete door, the window frame is completely buggered.

Luckily (?) the excess is going to be £100. I lose my NCB protection until renewal in May and I won't qualify for the 6th year of no-claims apparently.

I think I may look at geting an alarm fitted to see if the insurance can drop a little.
