Gearknobs

Post by eze »

Has anyone changes the gearknob of their 9n??

Ritchbrook has some niiiiice ones but it looks like the existing one wont come off easily.

If anyone has, some pics would be good to see if its worth it.

Cheers,
Eze.

I think to get the old knob off you need to give it a good sharp tug
(not trying to make this topic sound like a Carry On film, but I guess its gonna end up that way  )

VW do a 'wooden' one except its actually a horrible grey plastic and no way worth £40  . I was thinking of a Golf MK4 one as I believe they fit the same.

i think its the same as the mk5 so just unclip the gaiter at the botton and look for a metal ring at the bottom of the knob and cut it off then it lifts off with a sharp tug
