ICE Questions please

What size speakers go in the doors (and what depth is there) of an '01 Polo GTi
Which is the best route for large Power Cables through the bulkhead too.

Cheers

The front and rear speakers on a polo GTi are 6.5inches (on the 3 door-not sure about the rear ones on a 5 door)

There is quite a lot of depth there, I have Alpine SPR 176 components in my front doors, they have BIG magnets, the shop I bought them from reckoned they wouldn't fit, but they went in OK.

The power cable has been discussed on here before, try searching the topics.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Did my power cable the other day. If you look down behind the air box you will see a rubber gromet with no wires going thru it, I went thru here, altho you have to take off the air box to get to it properly, this should only take about 5 minuets. Then send the wire through and you see it just above you brake pedal.

Hope this helps

Neil, did you manage to take any photos of the job, getting the cabling through the bulk head?

I was thinking of taking it from the passengers side of the bulkhead.

I'll take some pics when I have the airbox off next as is near impossible too see where the cable goes thru with it on. But if you look bown behind the airbox you should be able to see the gromet im on about. I wanted to go thru the passenger side aswell but came to the conclusion that there is no way thru there without drilling. Been working on my install for about a month now, im waiting for my sub to arrive at the moment, then after xmas I'll be doing the front speakers. Heres my boot so far anway. I'm quiet pleased with it, I've had 3 polo's and each time my boot builds have got a little better.
