Remove Stereo

There isn't a metal cage for the "standard" head-unit/stereo. It jus clips onto the whole plastic strcutre thingy which holds the "chubby cubby thingy magig box" underneath the stereo.

Unless you mean something else?

recenlty got an 03 reg polo and wanting to install my kenwood mp3 player.
do i need any extra pieces or should it fit straight in to the gap left by the standard vw stereo

Not quite sure what you mean, if it's the metal bit around the headunit then yes I think.
