Post by the_muff2004 »

Hey just new to the forum first post! i just bought a vw polo 1.4cl r reg last week. over the last few days though ive noticed that when im coming to a stop the rev counter dips down below the 10 when i put my foot down on the clutch and is causing the car to stall! it aint happening all the time! but at least 3 times per journey! any ideas on whats causing this!! and if i can fix it myself! or is it a garage job!!??

cheers in advance for ure help!

its under the airbox (the thing the airbox connects to) and i just sprayed wd40 all over it and cleaned it with my finger *probably not professional way to do it* then cleaned the butterfly in the bottom too. it was all dirty and oily but after was shiny.

so the throttle body is the bit ABOVE the butterfly valve, that the injector is bolted to --- not the part of the intake immediately beyond it?

*has been squirting the wd40 and cleaner in the wrong bloody place all this time*
*no wonder the car runs like a mule*
