The policyholder doesnt have to be the main driver it can be a named driver on the policy. you just have to state which driver it is?

Does anybody else have any suggestions please as to how i could bring my insurance down.

Im 21, new driver and have 2 Convictions

The only ways of bringing your insurance down is by doing what the previous person said.... get quotes with parents on the policy you'll get a discount for having sensible people on it....OR

marry your girlfriend cos you might get discount for her being your spouse. OR

increase your xs's OR

decrease milage OR

i'm thinking..............................................thats it.

decreasing mileage: remember some companies do that in sections as is up to 2000miles.. then the next step up is up to 5000miles etc. b4 it steps up... so if u do 5000 miles.... tell them u do 4500 :P

I got a Quote Yesterday from 4youngdrivers

They have said that if i put my GF on the insurance first and me as a Provisional they could do it for £1300 and when i pass my test it wont go up. Has anyone heard of this before, the guy mentioned that i dont have to tell them i had passed. So to me, i think i would still be insured as a provisional driver for the year.

PS test is next week. (17th)

Sounds a bit dogdey that though???? salesmen will tel you anything to make you take their insurance so be careful....

Some insurance companies dont put it up when you pass, some will bring it down. But always tell them you've passed. If you crash and listed on your insurance as provisional licence holder and your in the car alone it could invalidate your insurance or the insurance company could ask for an additional premium to change it to full uk licence before they pay out for claim. AND THEY WILL STING U 4 IT!!!

Have you tried brentacre??? they are well good for VW owners
