Another Brake Uprate Ques

Post by jags53 »

hi peeps
im looking to uprate my brakes and have searched the forum, and i've decided to go for some brembo max discs with ferodo pads for my 1.48v,however im a little confused with the sizes are my standard discs 239mm?? do brembo do that size?or can i go a little bigger, without having to change everything costing me loads lol

also if i want to put some 17s on in the future will them brakes be ok??

Don't know if Brembo makes discs in that size but chances are they do, their range is pretty big. That size is correct btw. You can't go bigger without changing the calipers and hub assemble, as far as I'm aware.

But what do bigger wheels have to do with brakes?

Only cos little brake discs inside big hoops looks a bit well

*Thinks before he says it then decides to say it anyway

pants IMHO added as a hopefull get out

- goes off to get his coat

Seriously Bigger wheels are that much heavier and the increase in rubber at the contact point will make your existing brakes a bit less prone to loccking up under hard braking if you car isn't blessed with ABS
