I agree :D

I'm proud of it.

This morning I was part of a small 3-polo 9n convoy on the way to work. I don't see that many around here yet so It was a rare sight. I overtook one and he followed me then another came speeding along and when she noticed there were 2 other polos pulled in behind. Childish I know, but lots of fun.

Also when people ask you where you got your wheels and things. It's quite nice.

Oh and the other week I pulled in at the dealers, when I came back to my car I heard, [bloke1]"come here look, this one's red inside!" [bloke2] "Yeah and it's an FSI, is that like a GTI?" [bloke1] "It looks like, doesn't it"

I always have this fear that they're going to sell my car by accident.

Although I still get comments from Golf owners like "Very nice car! I was thinking of getting one for my girlfriend" hmmm, not quite sure how to take them...

Don't let Golf owners patronize you.

Just remind yourself they're driving a 5-year-old platform that'll soon be replaced by VW.

The other day this 60-year-old Golf driver saw my car and said he'd buy a Polo for his youngest daughter.

Well, that's not the case in Europe where they have different engines, but over here in Brazil Polos and Golfs have the same powerplants (apart from R32 and 1.8T). But the Polo's lighter, so this girl will have a much better car than her dad's!

Well yes, my car does make me proud. Just this morning I went the one of our local shopping centres...parked the car way out of harms way where other people couldn't bang it. Went into the shops, still keeping an eye on the car. And what did I see...people actually walking to it and having a look at it. Dunno if it's because the 9n Polo's only been available locally for 7 months (and there aren't a lot in town) - thus people just being curious, because it's different OR if they are really interested in it - thinking it's a good looking car...anyways.

What I do hate though - when driving in town, especially on a Friday evenings or during Saturdays - why?, well it's because if someone with an earlier model Polo (called the Polo Playa here) or a MKI Golf spots me, they wanna race - I HATE that!! Hell I don't race - sure I tend to exceed the speed limit on N roads almost everytime - but it's for my driving pleasure. People in Golfs tend to admire the car...and respect it more - anyways just my thoughts.

I parked up last night in a public car park and was waiting for my mate.

He pulled up, we started walking away when my mate prods me. I look over at my car, thinking I hadn't locked it or something...

There was this old dude, grey hair, maybe late 50's, with his lady, stood looking at my car. I thought WTF, then he started pointing at my mods and nodding his head at his lady!!

Where's the emoticon for proud?

Speedlaw, I thought I'd never see the day when you slack with smilies :D

I suppose my car does make me proud in many ways. Only yesterday I was finishing it off with some zymol when some kids walked past and uttered to each other 'Thats a smart Polo' and other praising comments. :P
