VW Speed has a six page article this month on how VW Performance (in Germany) fit a 1.8T into a Mk4. They use their own (custom) mounts, drive shafts, and gearbox mount. It's all very detailed actually, but not extremely helpful; since it's all VW Performance parts that are used. It doesn't say how to shorten the original drive shafts, for instance. Anyway.
It all looks very easy when they do it, too bad they charge 7 grand (Euros). I'm guessing most of the money goes into those custom parts, the wiring, and then some in the labor. Which, strangely, doesn't look all that difficult. I guess that if you have all the right parts it's just a matter of bolting the whole thing together.

For the wagner tuning website the pics are in the Galerie section on the far right hand side at the top then click on the Polo 6n picture.
All these cars seem to use the same kit which utilises the same Polo mounting pionts on the chassis, however the kit utilises different mounts that fit directly on the Golf 02J transmisssion or the Audi TT gearbox.
The way I've used is to bin the Polo mounting points and put the golf original mounts onto the chassis legs.

wrighty..its dub off of porka mate...i was at the polo RR day yesterday at aldon, and a guy called lee turned up with a dubsport converted mk4 polo TT...the sound and power was unbelieveable.
I'm going down this route now, was origionally gonna buy a gti mk5 and use bits off it like the engine, but it aint worth my effort for a measly 25bhp over my 1.4 16v i have right now.
I've been following this thread mate and haven't thought of replying until now, I will be following too in your steps so need a little help.
I've decided to go for a 150bhp 1.8T block as i think thats ample power for the time being, unless you think i can utilise a 180 bhp block just for the shere tuning capabilities.
I'll be running 8.5x16" wheels so i can fit atleast 288mm VR brakes up front and polo gti rear axle with discs.
I tried to see how dubsport fashioned the tt into the guys mk4, but could only tell they used the polo's OE mount on the drivers side, instead of say...a Vibratechnics solid mount.
Hope your getting on ok with yours...when do you think you'd have it done by? i'm banned from driving for a good few months, so i have already started to save. The 16v parts i dont need will soon be up for sale too, so i wouldnt mind givin it a go.
Thanks.
Sanjay.

still needing as much help as possible regarding the conversion...so i've been told to use a G60 gearbox and find a way of shortening the driveshafts due to the G60 having an ET of 33, i think they will stick out too far.
Anyone know how the ignition key module attachs to the mk4 steering column?
Or how to fit the golf mk4 hydraulic clutch/brake pedal box successfully.
Do you use the polo mk4 power steering pump with a mk4 golf pulley/wheel?
how has anyone fitted the clocks out of a golf mk4/S3 in a polo binnacle successfully?
i would be interested in knowing how to fit the mk4 golf dash into a polo mk4...or somehow getting a mk5 gti dash and using parts from the golf mk4 so they fit easier with each other...being theyre both of the same timeline.
HELP HELP HELP..
