i would like to talk about kw coilovers.
we all know how you adjust the front hardness,
but how do you adjust the rear ?? you have to take out the absorber, and then do what ?
ok to adjust the height on the front and back you need to jack her up (accesibility) then just adjust the spring seats
for dampning at the front you open the bonnet fit your little plastic "alloy" wheel and turn then shut bonnet and test
for dampning the rears you need to
jack up car and support
remove rear coils (1x 18or19 mm at the bottom and i think 3x13 at the top)
completly decompress the spring
find the little split disc (black plastic) just next to where the shiny bar goes into the shock and remove
completly compress the damper and turn the shiny shaft (allen key in to for leverage 5or6mm)
refit is a reversal of removing
hint: when fitting there are 2 plastic covers over the front strut bearings and i had to kill mine (screwdriver and a hammer) to gain access to the strut bearing, the covers are clipped in and single use only i think.
love the sig
i love my kw`s but they are a tad soft for me (even when wound all the way, hard) and ive still got 9 cm of threads left and im 70mm down it the friont already, doh its too tempting
Are the KW's too soft? I knew they were considered comfortable but that's a first for me. How's the handling then? Any good still? I'm still on 60mm shocks and springs but I'm considering upgrading the stuff next summer. KW's were on the top of the list, not H&R or Koni because I figured they'd be too harsh... What'ya reckon?
