driveshaft fitment
anybody know if the the driveshafts off a mk2 or 3 will fit the mk.1 ?

Yes, they fit for sure as I have Mk.3 items on my Mk.1 The only change VW made during production was to introduce a shoulder on the flanges of the gearbox/inner CV joint sometime during the early part of 1980. Late joints will fit early flanges but not the other way round. After the 1980 change, all shafts/joints fit all years upto 1994.
