I decided to take a quick run down the track with the car today (first time she has seen daylight in 2 months) and the front wheels scrubbed bad (this was expected) but more on the drivers side than the passenger side, i put this down to the extra weight of me in the drivers seat. But when i got out the car to check her over i noticed the wheel on the driver side sat quite far back in the arch in comparison to the other one...?
I measured the distance between the centre of the rear wheel and the centre of the front wheel on both sides and they were identical?
does anyone have any ideas whats going on?
cheers
wierd wheel?

The chassis and Track control arm cant be bent because the measurement between the centre of the rear wheel and the centre of the front wheel is identical on both sides. If anything was bent it would be obvious as it would be reflcted on the other side.
there arnt any spacers on them
The only thing i can think of is a bulge in the tyre (the tyre is almost flat so it is possible) or the wing is on at an angle (i have replaced both wings and the drivers wing looks fine although the passenger wing is slightly out.

The offset on the wheels is identical? You haven't acquired an odd one with a small offset have you?

The rear wheels are both scirroccos and the fronts are both BBS RJ's(just put em on there to see how they looked but they will be taken off and refurbed.) with 195/60/14's (yes i know they are too big and yes i did get constant scrubbage when slammed but i doubted they would effect where the wheels sat. Also the tyre that is on the wierd wheel is partially flat and i wondered if this would have caused the tyre to bulge?
The BBS's are 35mm offset and the scirrocos are 43mm i think
