I was hoping you were going to put the alloys off the pink one on it

Anyway - congratulations on getting the G on the road and insurance for it - look forward to seeing it at a show 8)

Yeah, congrats!

When I got my G40 it had Eibach Springs and Koni adjustable shocks (is this right??)

It handles amazingly compared to the GT I owned before so I can highly recommend it! Not really sure of what drop it is. I'm guessing 40mm.

Will get some pics up soon.

Actually here you go... a pic of when the previous owner had it.
Tried to turn the brightness up a bit so you can see the arches.

:D

Nothing to do with AlexG40 saying he's sold his then?

Yeah, I saw the ad for mine on club polo, phoned him the next day. Went down on the weekend and bought it. After selling the GT I had the money waiting for the right car. So I went for it. It is very red, and well looked after.

You going to the rolling road day on sat. ??

no nuttin to do with tha! this has nuttin to do with the relms of the forum! a total outsider!

sadly i'm not going to the RR day as i am at the uk-polos south eastern meet with my old car!

the g40 is coming off the road as i'm going to give it a service!

i also believe the charger needs a rebuild! quite noisy on start up unless u rev it slightly and when it is warm! any ideas?

i'll get some pictures up when i get a photo editing program back on my computer!

If the car is smokey on start up this usaually means the charger needs attention. And if you disconeect a boost pipe and rev the engine look to see how much oil is in the pipes if it is dripping it usually means the oil seals are gone in the charger. How many miles has the car done?
Has it ever been rebuilt?

yeah, does seem a little smoked, a fair amount of white smoke but that might just be because its cold, and condensation!

there is some oil around the charger area so i do believe the charge seals have gone! i'll be getting it rebuilt asap!

only thing is, my insurance won't let me port or polish the charger, so it'll be a standard rebuild for now i think!

car has covered 66k and i don't think the charger has been rebuilt!

if it was burning oil then you'd see blue smoke. white smoke is just water, so most likely just condensation due to the cold weather or in extreme cases could be a symtom of a knackered headgasket.

@Petrified - what wheels are those on your G?

They were put on by the previous owner then taken of before I bought it. I'm not 100% sure, they look like Oz Superturismo in Anthracite?? Think they were 15's.

I had it with the standard 13" BBS wheels. But I may Have 14" ones by the rolling road day. Just getting some new tyres (195/45/14 Falkens) fitted today, and need to get the tracking done by the weekend. The Falkens look like Toyo's but quite a bit cheaper. Get's expensive buying tyres for 2 cars! especially when Honda want to charge £140+ per tyre! Don't worry though got them much cheaper than that. :D

I'm well pleased with it.

I just got the 14" BBS ones on with brand new 195/45/14 tyres and got the tracking done. Feels so much better. Apparently the tracking was 5mm out

I thought it might feel rougher with the lower profile tyres but it doesn't and the turn in is much better.

I was tempted to go for some 15" bbs rx2 splitties, but I wanted to keep the original look of the car.

Also had a decat longlife system put on with standard tailpipe. 8)

I'm loving the G!!
Still a shame it's red though. Still I've heard they are faster. :P

Look forward to seeing yours!

g40 is now off the road!!!

its now time to give the car a good once over!

ill be having the charger off and sent away for a standard rebuild. give it a good service, clean all the boost piping and checking the oil breather pipe is unblocked! also i'll be ripping out the old alarm and getting a new one installed!

give the car a good wash and a polish! taking the wheels off to clean them with a tooth brush as well!

i reckon she'll be off the road for about a month or two! how am i gonna survive without that power! still, it'll be worth it!
