I don't want to appear patronising here but we have a few people on the forum who lack experience in working on cars
I've replaced my rear wheel bearings on the MKIV 1.4 8V today and I took a few pics as I went along
The intention was to do a how to guide but before I spend a load of time doing it I thought I'd ask if people are interested or think I'm wasting my time......
The poll is to see if anyone is interested
The other question is where do I post it?
In the DIY section or in the MKIV section?
DIY Guide - not modifications but servicing

Whilst I wouldn't be confident in performing such a task under my own steam (I think I fall under the "few people on the forum who lack experience in working on cars" umbrella, I'm not ashamed to say!!), any and all DIY guides are good to see, as you never know when you might need it! I say do it
and post it in the DIY section, natch.
Cheers

When it comes down to having the opportunity to put something like that up, and you can choose to do it or not do it, I'd say "do it" every time.
If anyone doesnt like it they dont have to bloody read it now do they? That's what the subject lines on the threads are for (I regularly skip threads that have headers tell-taling that it would be a waste of my time ie how to fit side-skirts
)
But if someone DOES need the guide, and it's not there, that's worse
The internet is a big place but it can still be incredibly frustrating trying to find a guide for something but it not being there as someone hasn't thought it worth the while to post up (or post properly)
Go for it dude
How many spanners would you give it out of five, by the way?
PS I hope my brake shoe nightmare report serves as a timely warning for folk searching the web on how to replace theirs --- get some specialised tools!
/Goes off hunting for gasket, piston ring, de-greasing alternators guides
