I had my car de-locked by a main dealer for about £14. I didn't have the torx tool needed... But I'll be sure to buy a torx set when I get the dashboard cup-holder.

That's a mod I'll try and do by myself (for cost reasons!!).

They come in handy! and you need them to take most things apart on vw's

Although £14 is still a good price. I'd imagine over here they would probably charge more like £30-40 and have your car in the garage for 2 days.

They did it in less than an hour for me.

But then again they're competing with 4 other VW main dealers in Belo Horizonte metro area alone.

And the service guy told me that everyday they had to repair 12-14 cars that'd been broken into , so they're well trained on doing this sort of work!

it not only dubs that use torx, just about ever car uses a lot of torx now
in fact a lot of vw calipers that use allen bolts are being classes as ******* redundant ******* ******** by mechanics

I'm just saying they take so long here. They took 3 days to change a belt on my car. Good job they give me a Golf GTi 180 to pass the time or I would have been complaining!

They are pretty lazy though. They charge for everything. Luckily I can take my car another 20 miles and get good service, I only leave the smaller things to my local dealer.

They just had a big launch this weeked, baloons, kids bouncy castle, give aways, prizes because they've started selling 'Accessories'


And you wouldn't believe how poor they are with customer relations.

Oh, and their website still shows the polo 6n (1999) as their current model.

Okay, I'm about to attempt this mod this weekend and was wondering before I do, what happens to the...

central locking?
alarm?
do I need to do anything to disengage the alarm?
say, if I was to sell it again, could I simply pop the locks back in?

It's easier for the Mk4/5.

The handle is one-piece, so you can just remove the retainer screw, slide the handle forward a quarter of an inch, then lift out the lock-barrel-side, then slide it all backwards again a quarter of an inch, then remove completely. Make sure there's no grit or sand between the handle and the paintwork.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I much prefer the handles off the 9N to my current ones. But was wondering if they fit the 6N in any way.

Does anyone know
